MY WORLDSCHOOL HUB

Guideline Document – Margate, England 9th – 13th June 2025

Accommodation

We recommend to find accommodation close to a bus route if you do not have a car with you. You will likely find cheaper accommodation options if you stay further out of the town centre. We recommend bringing a car and searching for some cheaper accommodations.

It is possible to get a room for 4 from £380 for 4 nights on Booking.com. Airbnb is another option you could try.

Campsites may be available via pitchup.com or campsites.co.uk for a cheaper deal.

You should expect accommodation in a hotel or apartment to cost upwards of £380 for 4 nights.

With a car, you could easily stay anywhere in Thanet and be within good reach of any of the activities.

If you are unsure, please get in touch! 🙂

Activity Costs

The activities in Margate are generally inexpensive with a few free options.
If you would like to partake in all activities on the itinerary, we would estimate this to cost under £50 per person.

Food Costs

Supermarkets:

– Morrisons, Iceland and Aldi in Margate centre.

– Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda Superstore’s are close to Westwood Cross.

– For organic foods, The Grain Grocer on Northdown road or one of the larger superstores are the best on offer.

Margate has plenty of cafe’s and restaurants dotted around. There are also take-away options available at many places.

If you’re curious about restaurant or take out costs, you could check deliveroo or justeat; this should give you a good idea. Supermarket prices can also be seen on the respective websites.

Travel costs

Please budget for your travel costs according to where you are coming from and how you will be travelling.

Bus tickets in Margate: you can expect to pay approximately

– £6 per day / £23.40 per week for adult fare

Bus tickets can be purchased online or on the bus. https://www.stagecoachbus.com/tickets/all-tickets

Train: The beach is very close to Margate train station. Everything else is likely to be quite a long walk, a bus or a taxi ride. We don’t recommend using train as your main access to the activities for this hub.

The most trusted taxi service in Margate is run by Central Cars.
Taxi’s will usually require a phone call as there are not many taxi ranks and you won’t always be able to flag one from the road. Uber also runs in the area and is a good alternative to the standard taxi service.
